Event: Copper Chief & Copper Jackalope outing

Date: Sunday, February 16th, 2025

Time: 10:00 am

Ride Meet-up: Yavapai College Verde Valley Campus (Clarkdale)

Post-ride Meet-up:  Copper Jackalope (UPDATE: 20% off post-ride for Copper Chief riders!)

Details:

Copper Chief is getting close to completion and will be hooking up with the Black Canyon Trail. And, Quail Springs will be connecting with Copper Chief, as a lot of progress has been made on Quail Springs.

This is a beautiful area, as you get expansive views of Sedona, the San Francisco Peaks and the entire Verde Valley. This is not a technical area and is a great trail system for new riders as well as experienced riders looking for long, fast, XC rides.

If you've never ridden Copper Chief or Blowout, this is a great time to come out and see these trails. If you ride in the area a lot, come out and show fellow VVCC members what they have been missing!

  • We'll be meeting up at Yavapai College at 10am and heading out at 10:15am through Blowout to start the climb up Copper Chief.
    • Route: 559 Campus > 551 Blowout Canyon > 535 Copper Chief and back the same way.
    • This route is ~ 22 miles with 3k ft. of climbing.
  • There are many options to make this a longer or shorter ride.
  • Based on who shows up, we'll break into multiple groups with various routes and distances.

PLEASE REGISTER, so we don't have to sign waivers at the outing!
